Hochwasser / Flood. Langwies | AT · um 1920 – 2013 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Die beiden SW-Fotos von Johann Promberger zeigen sein Geburtshaus und die nächste Umgebung in Langwies, etwa 5 km von Ebensee Richtung Bad Ischl zur Zeit eines Hochwassers. Er hinterließ eine Reihe von Aufnahmen während Hochwassersituationen – auch aus anderen Jahren – dabei wird nicht nur die Veränderung der Landschaft, sondern auch des Hauses sichtbar und damit vergleichbar. Bei der oberen Aufnahme sind – natürlich nur bei entsprechender Vergrößerung – insgesamt 7 Personen sichtbar: Drei Kinder – zwei Buben und ein Mädchen – stehen im Wasser vor dem Haus, neben ihnen auf einem behelfsmäßigen Floß eine weitere Person, auf der rechten Seite des Hauses, beim Hauseingang stehen zwei Frauen. Aus dem linken Fenster des ersten Stockwerkes ist noch der Kopf einer Person, vermutlich einer Frau, sichtbar.

Johann Promberger hatte sich also entschlossen, in einer katastrophalen Situation das Haus, seine Familie und die engere Landschaft zu dokumentieren – rund 100 Jahre später können andere Fotografien – aufgenommen ebenfalls während eines Hochwassers in der gleichen Landschaft – damit verglichen werden. Das Geburtshaus ist mittlerweile hinter Bäumen und Sträuchern verdeckt, weil unmittelbar davor eine stark befahrene Straße vorbeiführt. Es wäre im oberen Foto an der rechten Seite.

Zurecht wird mMn. gegenwärtig diskutiert, auf welche Regionen die mediale Berichterstattung bei den gegenwärtigen Unwetterkatastrophen, Hurrikanen, Erdbeben fokussiert ist, welche Regionen vernachlässigt werden bzw. negiert werden.

Ich denke, es ist sinnvoll und notwendig, auch über ganz persönliche, unspektakuläre „Geschichtsschreibung“, persönliche Dokumentationen nachzudenken, sie wahrzunehmen und zu schätzen.

He left a series of recordings during flood situations – also from other years – not only the change in the landscape but also the house becomes visible and therefore comparable. In the upper picture – of course only with appropriate enlargement – a total of 7 people are visible: Three children – two boys and a girl – are standing in the water in front of the house, next to them on a makeshift raft, on the right side of the house, there are two women at the entrance. The head of a person, presumably a woman, is still visible from the left window on the first floor.
Johann Promberger therefore decided to document the house, his family and the closer landscape in a catastrophic situation – around 100 years later other photographs – also taken during a flood in the same landscape – can be compared with it. The birthplace is now hidden behind trees and bushes, because a busy street leads directly in front of it. It would be on the right in the photo above.
Is right mMn. Discussions are currently taking place on which regions media reporting in the current storm catastrophes, hurricanes, earthquakes is focused on, which regions are neglected or negated.
I think it makes sense and is necessary to also think about, perceive and appreciate personal, unspectacular “historiography”, personal documentation.
