Gilbert & George

Spotting George – from Gilbert & George!!! London | UK · 2007 – 2009 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv). 2007 war ich nach London gekommen, um zwei Schauspieler-Freunde in einer Theater-Aufführung und eine große „Gilbert & George“-Ausstellung in der Tate Modern zu sehen. Ich konnte bei den beiden, die mit anderen in einem Haus in der Fournier Street in East London lebten, übernachten. Zu meiner großen Überraschung und Freude war in der gleichen Straße auch das Haus von Gilbert & George und ich konnte als G & G-Groupie tatsächlich Gilbert im Gespräch fotografieren. Eine meiner Sternstunden als Art-Paparazzi (Na Esel was sagst ;-) Die Ausstellung selbst war großartig, das Haus, in dem die beiden gewohnt hatten, war in einer fabulösen Gentrification-area und wurde wenige Jahre später von den Besitzern um 5 Millionen Pfund verkauft.

Der Text in der Ausstellung (oben mittig):

and sweets of the music of colour and the swetness of shape, a

world of feeling and meaning a newer better world, a world of

Spotting George – from Gilbert & George !!! London | UK · 2007 – 2009 (© PP · Eternal Archive). In 2007, I came to London to see two actor friends in a theatrical performance and a big “Gilbert & George” exhibition at the Tate Modern. I could spend the night with the two who lived with others in a house on Fournier Street in East London. Much to my surprise and joy was the house of Gilbert & George in the same street and I was actually able to photograph Gilbert in conversation as a G & G groupie. One of my great moments as a kind of paparazzi (Well, what donkey say 😉 The show itself was great, the house where they had been living was in a fabulous gentrification area, and a few years later it was bought by the owners for 5 million pounds sold.
