Yoko Ono, Valie Export, Michael Glawogger und 100.000 andere im Gartenbau-Kino. Wien | AT · 2001–2020 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Nach längerer Zeit wieder im Gartenbau-Kino: „Solaris“ von Andrej Tarkovskij, UdSSR 1972, 167 min, OmeU. Den Film hatte ich natürlich schon per DVD auf meinem kleinen Laptop gesehen, liegend im Bett, ich wollte mir die Chance, ihn auf großer Leinwand als Film projiziert zu sehen, nicht entgehen lassen, außerdem war eine kleine Belohnung fällig, weil mein neues Video über den Amateur-Photographen Johann Promberger vom Schnitt her weitgehend fertig ist (derzeit: 30:33 min.) und ich sehr zufrieden bin mit dem Stand der Dinge. Das Kino selbst überraschend gut besetzt – Corona-bedingt natürlich viele Plätze freigelassen etc. Die Kopie etwas bejahrt, die Projektion eben riesengroß, mir schien sie unscharf, ein anderer Besucher ging dann raus um Schärfe einzufordern, kam dann zurück und sagte mir, dass der Projektionist gemeint hätte, er würde eben auf die per Laser eingefrästen Untertitel scharfstellen. Gut, es ist dann im Verlauf des Abends besser geworden oder ich hab mich dran gewöhnt. So ist das eben in der analogen Welt. Den Film fand ich insgesamt großartige und wieder dachte ich, dass ich sicher nur einen Hauch, einen kleinen Teil „verstanden“ habe. Heute abend jedenfalls unbedingt zu „Stalker“

von Andrej Tarkovskij (UdSSR 1980 163 min, OmeU), keine Frage. „Andrej Rubljow“ (185 min) hab ich auch noch im Auge. Der Film ist sowieso UN-GLAUB-LICH.

Of course, I had already seen the film on DVD on my little laptop, lying in bed, I didn’t want to miss the chance to see it projected as a film on a big screen, and a small reward was due because my new video was over the amateur photographer Johann Promberger is largely finished with the editing (currently: 30:33 min.) and I am very satisfied with the state of affairs. The cinema itself was surprisingly well occupied – due to the Corona, of course, many seats left vacant, etc. The copy was a bit old, the projection was just huge, it seemed blurred to me, another visitor then went out to demand focus, then came back and told me that the A projectionist would have thought he would focus on the laser-cut subtitles. Well, it got better in the course of the evening or I got used to it. That’s just how it is in the analog world. Overall, I thought the film was great and again I thought that I must have “understood” just a touch, a small part. At least tonight to “Stalker”
by Andrej Tarkovskij (USSR 1980 163 min, OmeU), no question. I also have “Andrej Rublev” (185 min) in mind. The film is UN-BELIEVED anyway.
