Die BUNTE (lllustrierte) hält sich fabelhaft, während die QUICK total verrostet. Maximal Distraction! Mit SORAYA, der zweiten Frau des Schah von Persien!! Ebensee, Langwies, Wien | AT · 1950-er–2022 (© PP · # 2656 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ich gehe am liebsten in Kaffeehäuser, die den „Lesezirkel“ abonniert haben, aber unbedingt mit der BUNTEN (in Notfällen halt die „Gala“)! Ich bin ja mit dem „Lesezirkel“ aufgewachsen: Jede Woche wurde ein Stoß von „Illustrierten“ ins Haus gebracht – nicht die neueste Version, es waren etwas ältere Ausgaben. Der Preis des Abonnements richtete sich nach der Aktualität. Mir war das egal - am meisten interessierten mich QUICK, NEUE REVUE, praline (die drei hatten öfters Nacktfotos, allerdings die entscheidenden Stellen mit schwarzen Balken abgedeckt), mit einigem Abstand STERN und die BUNTE, weniger dafür das „Goldene Blatt“. Soweit ich weiß, gibt’s die drei erstgenannten Magazine nicht mehr – aber die BUNTE verfolge ich immer noch mit Interesse, wenn sie in Kaffeehäusern aufliegt. Caroline von Monaco! Eine Schönheit! Ihre Schwester, Prinzessin Stephanie und ihre schwierigen Beziehungen! Dieser sonderbare Prinz August von Hannover, aus dem Geschlecht der Welfen (soweit ich mich erinnere), warum Caroline ausgerechnet den geheiratet hat!? Boris und Barbara Becker! In der aktuellen Ausgabe ein Doppelseiter über die Witwe von Steve Jobs, den Gründer von Apple und „Erfinder des iPhones“ – und die 100 Millionen (US-Dollar wahrscheinlich) teure Yacht! Ich hab sie ja in bescheidenem Maße ein bissl mitfinanziert – da interessiert mich natürlich, wie die Yacht (73,5 Meter lang!) innen ausschaut – vom französischen Stardesigner Philippe Starck stardesignt. Sehr klar, sehr elegant – so wie eben apple! „Gala“ ist für mich immer nur zweite Wahl. Und Prinzessin Kate schaut schon sehr elegant aus! Und sie hält sich so ruhig + hat nichts dagegen, wenn ich eine Portraitskizze von ihr machen will! Eine Seltenheit!

I grew up with the “reading circle”: Every week a batch of “magazines” was brought to the house – not the latest version, it was a bit older editions. The price of the subscription depended on the topicality. It didn’t matter to me – I was most interested in QUICK, NEUE REVUE, praline (the three of them often had nude photos, but covered the crucial parts with black bars), at some distance STERN and BUNTE, less so the “Goldene Blatt”. As far as I know, the first three magazines mentioned no longer exist – but I still follow BUNTE with interest when it is available in coffee houses. Caroline of Monaco! A beauty! Her sister, Princess Stephanie, and her troubled relationships! This strange Prince August von Hanover, from the Welf family (as far as I remember), why did Caroline marry him of all people!? Boris and Barbara Becker! In the current issue a double page spread about the widow of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple and “inventor of the iPhone” – and the 100 million (probably US dollars) expensive yacht! I co-financed it a little to a modest extent – so of course I’m interested in how the yacht (73.5 meters long!) looks inside – designed by the French star designer Philippe Starck. Very clear, very elegant – just like apple! “Gala” is always my second choice. And Princess Kate looks very elegant! And she keeps herself so calm + doesn’t mind if I try to make a portrait sketch of her! A rarity!
