Der „Tatort“ ist neben meinem Studio! Ein „Kasperl-Filmemacher“ (ich selbst demnach) beobachtet (neidvoll?) Dreharbeiten eines öffentlich-/rechtlich finanzierten und nach den Usancen der Branche produzierten „Industriefilmes“, um einen von Peter Kubelka gerne verwendeten Begriff für den „Kommerzfilm“ (vs: „künstlerischer Film“) elegant einzuflechten. Wien | AT · 2026 (© PP · # 3798 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Und es begab sich folgend: Die ehemalige Wohnung meiner leider vor Jahren verstorbenen und schmerzlich vermissten Nachbarin Elisabeth Wetsch – aka „Elizzza13“ – der nach wie vor regierenden youtube-Queen von Österreich, mit ihrer Strick- & Häkelseite www.nadelspiel.com, mit rund 1.000 Strickvideos, damals mehr als 110 Millionen (views“, 300.000 Abonent*innen, deren Wohnung, schon längst ausgeräumt und in eine Art Co-Workingspace verwandelt, wird gelegentlich als Location für „Spielfilme“ vermietet und diente die vergangenen Tage als Schauplatz der Dreharbeiten für eine neue „Tatort“-Serie, die im kommenden Jahr ausgestrahlt werden wird. Den Titel wusste ich, stand auf der Klappe, hab’ ich aber vergessen, sorry. Da ich vor Jahrzehnten, nach fünf Jahren Arbeit im Digitalstudio des ORF, ein notariell beglaubigtes „Nicht-Fernseh-Gelübde“ abgelegt habe, war ich inhaltlich nicht vorbereitet, als zwei total nette Menschen vor Beginn der Arbeiten, plötzlich vor meinem Studio standen, durch die offene Türe reinschauten, worauf ich kurz mit ihnen sprach und sie herein bat. Im Laufe des kurzen Gesprächs stellten sich die beiden als neue Kommissare bzw Kommissar*innen (wohl eher) heraus bzw vor. Wenn ich alerter gewesen wäre, hätte ich natürlich gleich bessere Fotos gemacht, so bleibt nur das große Foto links des männlichen Parts. „Neues "Tatort"-Team für Wien! Miriam Fussenegger und Laurence Rupp übernehmen ab 2027 den "Tatort" aus Österreich! Die neuen Ermittler heißen Charlotte "Charlie" Hahn und Alex Maleky und sind Halbgeschwister! Wer denkt beim Namen „Laurence“ nicht sofort an den legendären Film „Lawrence of Arabia“ oder wohl eher, weil zeitgemäßer, an Laurence Fishburne, den Morpheus in der Science-Fiction Trilogie „Matrix“! Regie des neuen „Tatortes“: Kim Strobl, Kamera: Joe Berger. Soweit ich das in etwa mitgekriegt habe, dient die ehemalige Wohnung meiner Nachbarin als imaginierte Doublette einer Künstlerinnen-WG, eine weibliche bzw. weiblich konnotierte PoC (Person of Color) ist das Mordopfer, es geht um Restitution, das Bild, um das es im Handlungsstrang geht, wird bei einer Auktion von zwei weiblichen PoCs um eine Million ersteigert. Die Ermittlungen laufen ganz sicher sehr korrekt ab, auf der Straße konnte ich beobachten, wie eine männliche PoC eine Polizei-Weste probiert. ;-) Ob queere Personen mitspielen, konnte ich in der Aufregung nicht ermitteln (sorry, diese kleinen Bosheiten konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen :-)
Das Drehteam umfasste etwa 35 bis 40 Personen. Die Kaffeejause beim Catering des Films, der sicher nicht ungewöhnlich luxuriös, aber eben mit dementsprechendem, branchenüblichem Aufwand und dem dazugehörigen Drehstab produziert wird, kostet sicher in etwa soviel, wie die Produktionskosten eines meiner Künstler*innen-Dokumentarfilme sind. Kann mann/frau natürlich nicht vergleichen – denke trotzdem darüber nach.

Vienna | AT · 2026 (© PP · # 3798 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) And this is what transpired: The former flat of my neighbour Elisabeth Wetsch – aka ‘Elizzza13’ – who sadly passed away years ago and is sorely missed, and who remains the reigning YouTube queen of Austria, with her knitting and crochet site www.nadelspiel.com, featuring around 1,000 knitting videos, which at the time had garnered more than 110 million ‘views’, 300,000 subscribers – has long since been cleared out and converted into a sort of co-working space. It is occasionally rented out as a location for “feature films” and, over the past few days, served as the setting for the filming of a new “Tatort” series, which will be broadcast next year. I knew the title – it was on the clapperboard – but I’ve forgotten it, sorry. As I took a notarised “non-television vow” decades ago, after five years working in the ORF’s digital studio, I wasn’t prepared for what was happening when, just before work began, two absolutely lovely people suddenly appeared outside my studio, peered through the open door, whereupon I spoke briefly with them and invited them in. During the brief conversation, the two turned out to be – or rather introduced themselves as – the new detectives (probably more likely female). If I’d been more alert, I would of course have taken better photos straight away; as it is, all that remains is the large photo on the left of the male detective. “New ‘Tatort’ team for Vienna! Miriam Fussenegger and Laurence Rupp are taking over the Austrian ‘Tatort’ from 2027! The new investigators are called Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Hahn and Alex Maleky and are half-siblings! Who doesn’t immediately think of the legendary film “Lawrence of Arabia” when they hear the name “Laurence”, or perhaps, as it’s more contemporary, of Laurence Fishburne, who played Morpheus in the science fiction trilogy “The Matrix”! Director of the new “Tatort”: Kim Strobl, cinematography: Joe Berger. As far as I could gather, my neighbour’s former flat serves as an imagined stand-in for an artists’ flat-share; a female or femininely connoted PoC (Person of Colour) is the murder victim; the plot revolves around restitution; the painting at the heart of the storyline is bought at auction by two female PoCs for a million. The investigation is certainly being conducted very properly; out on the street, I spotted a male PoC trying on a police vest. 😉 In all the excitement, I couldn’t tell whether any queer people were in the cast (Sorry, I just couldn’t resist a bit of cheek 🙂

The film crew consisted of around 35 to 40 people. The coffee break provided by the film’s catering service – which is certainly not unusually luxurious, but is produced with the standard industry effort and the associated production staff – surely costs about as much as the production costs of one of my artist documentaries. Of course, you can’t really compare the two – but it’s still something to think about.
