Chérie Hansson, Photographer, Cinematographer. Wien | AT · 2020 (© PP · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Diese an sich öde Corona-Lockdown-Zeit hat dann doch einige gute Seiten – zumindest für mich: Ich konnte Chérie Hansson und Rene Huemer kennenlernen, die an sich größtenteils in den USA leben, aber vor etwa einem Jahr in Wien gewissermaßen „hängengeblieben“ sind. René arbeitet seit Jahren als Tour-Photographer mit Bands wie PHISH und der Dave Matthews Band, aber: keine Konzerte, keine Tours, keine Tour-Photography. Chérie, gebürtige Schwedin, ist Freelancer, macht Music-Videos und Film- und Videoprojekte. Abgesehen, dass beide außerordentlich nette Menschen sind – sie sind Top-Profis auf ihren Gebieten. Ich durfte mit ihnen bei meinem Video „Johann Promberger – Ein Amateur-Photograph sieht die Wirklichkeit“ zusammenarbeiten – es war eine reine Freude. René Huemer, auch ein Spezialist für historische Fototechniken, zeigte für das Video, wie er eine Familie mit Kollodium-Nassplatte fotografiert (unten mittig), Chérie Hansson machte sämtliche Close-ups und Slider-Aufnahmen der Kameras, Laterna Magicas und Glasnegative meines Großvaters. Sie bei ihrer konzentrierten, präzisen Arbeit zu beobachten, war einfach toll – jedesmal wieder bin ich beim Ansehen des Videos von den Ergebnissen ihrer professionellen Arbeit begeistert. Chérie ist auch eine großartige Illustratorin und bereitet eine Kickstarter-Kampagne für ihr neues Kinderbuch „The Little Wind Visits the Zoo“ vor.

Vienna | AT 2020 (© PP www.ewigesarchiv.at) This dreary corona lockdown time has some good sides – at least for me: I got to know Chérie Hansson and Rene Huemer, who mostly live in the USA , but to a certain extent “got stuck” in Vienna about a year ago. René has been working as a tour photographer with bands like PHISH and the Dave Matthews Band for years, but: no concerts, no tours, no tour photography. Chérie, a native of Sweden, is a freelancer who makes music videos and film and video projects. Aside from the fact that they are both extremely nice people, they are top professionals in their fields. I got the chance to work with them on my video “Johann Promberger – An amateur photographer sees reality” – it was pure pleasure. René Huemer, also a specialist in historical photo techniques, showed for the video how he photographs a family with a collodion wet plate (bottom center), Chérie Hansson took all the close-ups and slider shots of the cameras, magic lanterns and glass negatives of my grandfather. Watching them do their concentrated, precise work was just great – every time I watch the video, I am amazed by the results of their professional work. Chérie is also a great illustrator and is preparing a Kickstarter campaign for her new children’s book, The Little Wind Visits the Zoo.
