Bullet Time in Pressbaum: Matrix Re-Reloaded. Pressbaum | AT · 2000 (© PP · # 2258 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Der Masterplan für das heutige Tableau sah – ausgehend von zwei Glasdias, die mein Großvater hinterlassen hatte – eine Annäherung an „Armut“ bzw. „Darstellung von Armut“ vor. Das ist zwar etwas, das nicht nur mich schon lange beschäftigt, aber war mir dann für den heutigen Sonntag etwas zu komplex. Auf der Suche nach einem „leichteren“ Thema kam mir dann „Engel“ in den Sinn und bei der Bildersuche stieß ich auf eine Reihe von Fotos, die ich im Jahr 2000 im Studio „Brains & Pictures“ von Georg Riha in Pressbaum aufgenommen hatte: Mein damaliger Arbeitspartner Michael H. (der wohl keinen Wert darauf legt, in FB zu erscheinen) wollte einen markanten Spezialeffekt des kurz vorher erschienenen SciFi-Films „Matrix“ versuchen: „Bullet Time“, bei dem scheinbar Kamerafahrten um eine sich schnell bewegende Person in jede Richtung möglich sind. (s. unten bzw. link). In der großen „Green Box“ des Studios wurden eine Reihe von baugleichen DV-Kameras um eine als Engel verkleidete Schauspielerin aufgestellt – mit einer speziellen Software konnten dann jeweils einzelne Frames der verschiedenen Clips in einer eigenen timeline zusammengestellt werde. Mit dabei ua. Oliver Kunz. Auch schon wieder mehr als 20 Jahre her! ;-)

This is something that has not only occupied me for a long time, but it was a bit too complex for me for today’s Sunday. When I was looking for a “lighter” topic, “Engel” came to mind and while looking for pictures I came across a series of photos that I had taken in the year 2000 in Georg Riha’s “Brains & Pictures” studio in Pressbaum: My work partner at the time, Michael H. (who probably doesn’t care about appearing in FB) wanted to try a striking special effect from the recently released SciFi film “Matrix”: “Bullet Time”, in which tracking shots around a fast-moving person seem to be are possible in any direction. (see below or link). In the large “green box” of the studio, a number of identical DV cameras were set up around an actress disguised as an angel – with special software, individual frames of the various clips could then be put together in a separate timeline. Also part of the team: Oliver Kunz. More than 20 years ago! 😉
