Brot für die Welt. Ebensee, Faak am See, Radlbrunn, Wien | AT · 2008–2020 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv). Gestern wurde in der Kunsthalle Wien die Ausstellung „… von Brot, Wein, Autos, Sicherheit und Frieden“ eröffnet (gr. Foto re.: Ausstellungsansicht) Spannend, sehr lebendig – beschäftigt sich mit den grundsätzlichen Themen des gegenwärtigen Lebens, Themen, die auch der Kernbereich des Ewigen Archivs sind. „… von Brot, Wein, Autos, Sicherheit und Frieden ist die erste von WHW (What, How & for Whom / WHW (Ivet Ćurlin, Nataša Ilić und Sabina Sabolović) kuratierte Ausstellung, seit das Kollektiv die Leitung der Kunsthalle Wien übernommen hat. . . Anfang der der 2000er-Jahre beschrieb der libanesische Schriftstellers Bilal Khbeiz die unerreichbaren Träume vom ‚guten Leben‘ für Menschen im Globalen Süden – im Gegensatz zu jenen in der westlichen Welt – mit ebendieser Auflistung: Brot, Wein, Autos, Sicherheit und Frieden (Globalization and the Manufacture of Transient Events, Beirut: Ashkal Alwan, 2003). Fast zwei Jahrzehnte später scheint es, als sei die Befriedigung solcher Grundbedürfnisse für immer mehr Menschen auch an Orten gefährdet, wo sie einmal als selbstverständlich galt: Der Klimawandel lässt den Fortbestand des Lebens auf der Erde fraglich erscheinen; die Zerstörung der Umwelt schreitet immer schneller voran; die Finanzkrise von 2008 hat den Glauben zerstört, dass der Kapitalismus im Kern gut sei.“ (Kunsthalle Wien)

Besonders interessiert hat mich ein Video von „Forensic Architecture“ zum Thema „Tränengas“ . Der CEO der amerikanischen Firma „Safariland“, die ein Produzent von Tränengas ist (Triple Chaser), war Hauptsponsor des Whitney-Museums, was zu anhaltenden Protesten führte.

Photo right: exhibition view) Exciting, very lively – deals with the basic issues of contemporary life, topics that also are the core area of the Eternal Archive. “… of bread, wine, cars, security and peace is the first exhibition curated by WHW (What, How & for Whom / WHW (Ivet Ćurlin, Nataša Ilić and Sabina Sabolović) since the collective took over the management of the Kunsthalle Wien. At the beginning of the 2000s, the Lebanese writer Bilal Khbeiz described the unattainable dreams of a ‘good life’ for people in the Global South – in contrast to those in the Western world – with the same list: bread, wine, cars, security and peace (Globalization and the Manufacture of Transient Events, Beirut: Ashkal Alwan, 2003). Almost two decades later, it seems that the satisfaction of such basic needs is at risk for more and more people, even in places where it was once taken for granted: climate change is not The continued existence of life on earth seems questionable; the destruction of the environment is progressing faster and faster; the financial crisis of 2008 has destroyed faith is annoying that capitalism is essentially good. ”(Kunsthalle Wien)

I was particularly interested in a video by “Forensic Architecture” on the subject of “tear gas”. The CEO of the American company “Safariland”, which is a producer of tear gas (triple chaser), was the main sponsor of the Whitney Museum, which led to ongoing protests.

Bread for the World is an aid organization of the Evangelical regional churches and free churches in Germany. The foundation provides help for self-help for the work of church, church-related and secular partner organizations.
