Insgesamt natürlich keinen Schimmer – aber im winzigsten Fragment meiner Wahrnehmung doch eine Ahnung: Ein massives Hartplastik-Herz für 300 Gramm Erdbeeren, die aus einem Ort namens Gamboletta in Italien per LKW herantransportiert wurden, gekühlt natürlich, etikettiert, liegt beim SPAR Österreich in der Gumpendorferstraße, ums Eck von meinem Studio, in einer Vitrine, gleich beim Eingang – wo alle anderen Beeren etc in Plastikboxen auch liegen. Dicke Blaubeeren aus Peru oder so. Dieses Plastikherz allerdings hat sofort „mein Herz gewonnen“ – mit dem runden Aufkleber „Zum Muttertag“. Ich nehme es in die Hand – unschlüssig, ob ich es im Supermarkt fotografieren soll – entscheide mich dagegen, weil ich weiß, dass das verboten ist – aber vor allem deshalb, weil ich den Mitarbeiter*innen (und mir) die Peinlichkeit ersparen möchte, dass sie mich „verwarnen“ oder auf das Verbot hinweisen müssen. Also dann – diese Plastiksensation muss dokumentiert werden, also rein in den roten Einkaufstrolley und ab zur Kassa. € 3,49. Unpackbar. Es ändert sich nichts, gar nichts. Wirklich: GAR NICHTS.

Erdbeeren aus 47035 Gambettola, Forlì-Cesena – ITALY, abgepackt von Gobbi Dino Srl in einem stabilen Hartplastik-Herz mit Aufkleber auf dem Deckel „Zum Muttertag“, 300 g um 3,49 €, am 10. Mai 2024 beim SPAR Wien auf der Gumpendorferstraße gekauft.

All in all, of course, no idea – but in the tiniest fragment of my perception, I do have a clue: a massive hard plastic heart for 300 grams of strawberries, transported by lorry from a place called Gamboletta in Italy, chilled of course, labelled, is lying in a display case at SPAR Austria in Gumpendorferstraße, around the corner from my studio, right by the entrance – where all the other berries etc. are also lying in plastic boxes. Big blueberries from Peru or something. This plastic heart, however, immediately “won my heart” – with the round sticker “For Mother’s Day”. I pick it up – undecided whether I should take a photo of it in the supermarket – decide against it because I know it’s forbidden – but mainly because I want to spare the staff (and myself) the embarrassment of having to “warn” me or point out the ban. So then – this plastic sensation has to be documented, so into the red shopping trolley and off to the checkout. € 3.49. Unpackable. Nothing changes, nothing at all. Really: NOTHING at all.
