Winzig im Vergleich zu den unüberschaubaren Datenmengen, die sich auf Amazon, Alibaba und vielen anderen kommerziellen Websites anhäufen. Es gibt hier allerdings auch nichts zu kaufen bzw. zu verkaufen: Das Ewige Archiv versteht sich als Enzyklopädie zeitgenössischer Wirklichkeiten, als Ort der Reflexion in einem Zeitalter der Virtual Triviality. Beim Ewigen Archiv liegt das Augenmerk nicht auf dem einzelnen „großartigen“ Foto – Kern ist das Schaffen von Zusammenhängen über Zeiten und Räume. Es ist ein Forschungsprojekt zu Wahrnehmung und zur Frage, ob persönliche Erkenntnis möglich ist, ob aus präzisen, kleinen Beobachtungen Rückschlüsse über „Die Welt“ zu ziehen sind, die über das „rein“ Persönliche, Spezifische hinausgehen. Die Website ist eine Datenbank mit einer Vielzahl von Suchfunktionen, die individuelle Kombinationen und Überblicke ermöglicht.

1900 ist ein italienisches Filmdrama aus dem Jahr 1976. Der Film heißt im Original Novecento (italienisch: 20. Jahrhundert).

Der von Bernardo Bertolucci inszenierte insgesamt über fünf Stunden dauernde Monumentalfilm erzählt die Geschichte der ambivalenten Freundschaft eines Landarbeitersohnes und des am selben Tag geborenen Sohnes des Großgrundbesitzers vor dem Hintergrund der italienischen Geschichte der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Dabei wird insbesondere die Entwicklung zum und im italienischen Faschismus aus zwei unterschiedlichen Erlebensperspektiven geschildert.

It is a research project on perception and on the question of whether personal knowledge is possible, whether conclusions can be drawn about “The World” from precise, small observations that go beyond the “purely” personal, specific. The website is a database with a large number of search functions that enable individual combinations and overviews.

The five-hour monumental film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci tells the story of the ambivalent friendship of a farm laborer’s son and the son of the landowner, who was born on the same day, against the background of Italian history in the first half of the 20th century. In particular, the development towards and in Italian fascism is described from two different perspectives.
